Hello friends,
Last night we had the pleasure of visiting a new-to-us restaurant that we've been wanting to go to for ages.
It did not disappoint! Here I am with my chocolate lava cake for dessert... yes it really was that big, but I did my best!
If you're ever in Havelock North, Deliciosa is well worth trying. We had tapas for dinner and they were delicious too.
The staff were all friendly, and it was warm and welcoming inside, even on a cold Monday evening. There were plenty of other diners there too.
💫 My inexpensive home facial routine 💫
Once every week or two I like to exfoliate my face and apply a mud mask.
I learned when I worked at Parfums Christian Dior to use a brush for the mask. I put a blob in the palm of my hand and paint away. It makes a nice smooth coating and less of a mess on my fingers.
This brush is from a beauty supply store and it's the same as the ones bought for the counter managers to use when they did VIP customer facials. I put an order in for one too!
These two products aren't necessarily recommendations, but they are both repeat purchases so I am happy with them.
I always do my exfoliation and mask combo right before I wash my hair, so I can paint right up into the hairline without fear 😊 (imagine going out with bits of green mud in my hair!!)
Sometimes I do my facial the night before a hairwash, and go to bed with a very happy face (and I never do end up with green in my hair). And sometimes I do it in the morning just before my shower, rinsing the mud mask off while I'm showering.
I really do prefer to remove it with a face flannel though... hmm... maybe I could take the flannel into the shower!
It's funny, while my mask is setting, I can't unlock my phone with my face 😂 Also, I can't wear my reading glasses so I browse a magazine or book with pictures instead 🤣 Or I could make the letters on my Kindle big 🤣
Are you an at-home facial girlie? I did have plans to book a quarterly facial at a favourite place locally but it's over $100 each time... so I've only gone when I have birthday gift vouchers so far!
The good girls looked extra cute and twin-like on the sofa the other night. Matching poses, left-front paws out front, right-back tucked out.
I've watched a few episodes of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders show on Netflix and I think they were taking pointers!
Chloe is on the left and she's 11, and Daphne on the right is nine. See how white Chloe's face is! And Daphne's has frosted touches too, specificially white eyeshadow 😂
It's been eight years now since they came to live with us as rescue girls. They've made this house their furever home, and rightfully so.
Even though I moan about the fur and the mess and the handbrake that they are regards going on holiday, I couldn't love them more. They really are my sweet princesses and two of the many heartbeats of our home.
My little cheerleaders! ❤️❤️
And I've been busy with my next book. I've completed it and been doing editing and proofreading 😊 I'm feeling very productive and SO glad I've got my mojo back! I'm excited for you to see it soon 😍 I'm aiming for 21st July as a release date.
I hope you are having a good start to your week too!
xx Fiona

I sometimes steam my face before a face mask, putting herbs or essential oil in the water, to open up the pores more. Thanks for the brush tip as I do find using fingers for a face mask messy, true enough!
