My winter wardrobe
Keeping warm in the cold, and new book thanks
Hello friends!
How cute are my happy pets sunning themselves in front of the fire? It's been below freezing at night this week.
From left to right, Daphne, Ninacat, and Chloe ❤️❤️❤️ Normally Nina terrorises the dogs, I think she's just sitting so close to spite them 😂
Often she hides behind doors and jumps out at them. They jump high and scurry off! She's such a meanie.
Apart from creating a cozy living room, we are so lucky that our woodburner is set up to heat our water, and heated air is carried through to the rest of the house with vents and fans in the ceiling.
And we can cook on the top, it's a hotplate 😊 I love doing this.
And I love cozy times in the winter!
Yes I might dream of being somewhere warm and sunny, but at least we get half the equation right on frosty mornings, it turns into a beautiful day.
The other day out for lunch there were people in short sleeves. I kept my long sleeve top, jacket and scarf on but it was lovely and warm out.
I had fun playing around in my closet recently, reorganising my winter clothes. I started out with a clean space and put everything on our bed, then put back my curated capsule collection for the cold months.
The top rail are my tops and bottoms, and my blazers and jackets live below. I also have a couple of winter coats that hang just next to them in a long-hanging area.
(We've had such a mild autumn that I was coasting a bit 😁)
I love the hooks we have on the wall in there, I can make a little outfit for myself and see how the pieces look together before I put them on.
Taking everything out and putting it back always helps me put together different outfits, and be a bit more intentional with what I wear; I love it!
My summery clothes have been moved elsewhere so I can look forward to visiting them later in the year 😊
I love merchandising my closet to be like a boutique, with only the pieces I want to wear for the season being front and centre.
And thank you for loving my new book Luxurious Weight Loss! I am thrilled with the feedback so far.
It's always a little nerve-wracking releasing a new book.
Will it be liked? Have I made a massive error that I couldn't see? Have I said something really dumb? All these questions wake me up at night 😂
But they don't stop me writing! I do my best, and really, that's all any of us can do.
When I write my books it is truly to be helpful to others.
I love to share my inspiration and encouragement, and nothing makes me happier than when people let me know they have found my writing key to shifting their thoughts about an issue that has been a bother to them.
Or feeling happier or sparklier 😊
I think this is one of my favourite aspects to being an author. Aside from the fact that I get to do my favourite thing in the world as my job. That too 😍
And it's all thanks to you, the people who read my books, share them with like-minded friends, and leave reviews on Amazon or comments on my social media.
I appreciate and are grateful for every message I receive.
If you are reading it currently, I hope it's an enjoyable read, and useful too.
I just wanted to say that today 😊 Thank you so much.
And I wish you a lovely week until we speak again! Keep warm or cool, wherever you are.
xx Fiona

So glad to see you on substack, Fiona. I've been a long-time reader of your blog but for some tech reason I was never able to solve, commenting there took a lot of fiddling about with my browser settings. I may be a bit more chatty here 😊. Always enjoy your insights & view of things -- & photos of Nina!
So neat and professional-looking. And being a bookworm, now of course I’m equally curious about the lovely collection of books behind you!
